Clients and Mobile Applications

AnyStream makes your library accessible from anywhere with native web and mobile applications. More devices will be supported in the future.

Web

AnyStream provides a built-in website to view and manage your library. The web client is served automatically by the AnyStream server and is accessible at your server's URL (e.g. http://localhost:8888).

The web client supports:

  • Browsing your movie and TV show libraries
  • Searching your collection
  • Streaming media with adaptive transcoding
  • Managing library directories and scanning
  • User and invitation management (admin)
  • Monitoring active playback sessions and server logs (admin)

Android

An Android client is available that provides a native experience for phones, tablets, and Google TV devices.

Device Pairing

AnyStream supports device pairing to simplify signing in on devices where typing credentials is inconvenient (such as a TV). To pair a device:

  1. Open the AnyStream app on the device you want to pair.
  2. A pairing QR code will be displayed on screen.
  3. On a device where you are already signed in, scan the QR code and approve the new device.
  4. The new device will be signed in automatically.

Desktop

An experimental desktop client is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux using a native UI.
